Summer Activities in Barrie
This summer, the Barrie community will be buzzing in festivals and outdoor events. At Harmony Village, we are so excited to become part of the community! We’ve listed some of the events we are most excited about.
The Kool FM Barrie Jazz and Blues Festival:
June 5-16, 2014
Are you a music lover? If so, you definitely need to check out the Kool FM Barrie Jazz and Blues Festival at 14 Radenhurst Cresent in Barrie! For the past 18 years, this festival has brought top musical performances to the city, including The Climax Jazz Band, The Paul James Band, The Birdland Duo and more. Along with a mix of tasty food vendors this year, you can also expect to hear music from the Carlos del Junco Band and George Elliot Clarke.
The Butter Tart Festival:
June 14, 2014
If you have a sweet tooth, you won’t want to miss this festival. The event includes hundreds of bakers and more than 50,000 butter tarts. This year, TV Food Celebrity Trish Magwood will judge Barrie’s Butter Tart Festival and Concert. We promise you that you’re in for a treat!
Canada Day Fireworks:
July 1, 2014
Happy Birthday to our great country! On July 1, celebrate Canada’s 147th Anniversary with fireworks and fun for the whole family. Enjoy free entertainment all day on the Promenade Days stage in Memorial Square. The Kids Fun Zone in Heritage Park runs from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Then check out the fireworks show over Kempenfelt Bay starting at 10 pm.
