Today’s condominium market is highly competitive and great developers are being tasked with going the extra mile to satisfy the growing demands of their target consumer. Baby boom and senior generations are continuing to demand more when it comes to sustainable living. They expect environmentally friendly services such as geothermal heating and recycling programs in their own residences and communities they are a part of. They seek to live “green and clean” and wish to reduce their carbon footprint.  Knowing this, our team of designers and architects at Harmony Village are setting a new standard of living for these generations by incorporating Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), renewable energy design into our mixed-use urban village.

LEED is a green building point-based rating system used to assess the environmental sustainability of building designs. Points are earned for building attributes considered to be environmentally beneficial. Based on the number of points, builders are ranked LEED Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum..

Through dedication to excellence in environmental leadership, we are leading the way for developers with our Harmony Village design concepts and setting new standards in real estate development. Committed to innovation and sustainability, each Harmony Village development will follow universal design, including the latest in renewable energy, solar thermal and geothermal energy. The architecture and design of the development will incorporate LEED Gold design standards to ensure our residents live greenly and cost-effectively in all aspects of their lives.

So, what will energy and environmental leadership look like at Harmony Village?

  • Buildings will operate on a geothermal system as geothermal energy will be the primary source of energy used to heat and cool the units and buildings
  • All buildings will be designed to have three times the standard insulation as normal buildings, retaining heat in the winter and keeping the heat out in summer – helping to reduce heating and air conditioning costs
  • Energy costs for heating and cooling will be secured with 30 year contracts for geothermal energy supply
  • Energy saving lighting will be used in all individual suites and facilities and buildings will be designed to be “smart buildings” with computerized management systems designed to conserve energy
  • Programs in place to reuse and recycle organic waste in urban gardening plots on rooftops
  • Fresh air will specifically be piped into each unit, eliminating the “sick building syndrome”
  • Reduced parking spaces to encourage the use of bicycles with hundreds of bicycle storage spots
  • Car club, bicycle and tricycle rental programs to help eliminate carbon emissions
  • Harmony Village busses for mass transportation for our residents and electric charging stations for residents to charge hybrid and electric cars
Through our renewable energy technology and LEED Gold designs, we are dedicated to providing quality construction, air quality, and materials to residents to ensure affordable operations and a healthy, clean and green lifestyle.
