Staying in this weekend? Curl up on the couch with a few classic holiday films. We picked our favourite movies that truly get us in the holiday spirit. Check out our list and let us know if your top holiday movie made our list.

Love ActuallyFeaturing intersecting love stories and great tunes, this is one of our favourites for the season. Plus, the stellar cast — led by Hugh Grant — is always a plus. The message is perfect: “love, actually, is all around us.”

Elf – Starring ultimate funny guy Will Ferrell, the jokes never get old. Watch this one with friends and you’ll be quoting it to each other all season long.

Home Alone – We can all be forgetful but remember how the McAllister’s felt when they realized they forgot 8-year-old Kevin at home when they left for a holiday vacation? This young boy defends his house from burglars, offering plenty of laughs and even some heartwarming moments. Make it a double header with Home Alone 2, in which Kevin ends up all alone in the Big Apple.

It's A Wonderful Life – An ultimate holiday classic, this movie reminds us how everyone’s life is meaningful. It’s almost impossible not to cry tears of joy at the end.

Christmas Vacation – Nothing is better than a night with the Griswold family. Watch with a group of friends to truly enjoy this wacky family’s holiday.

A Nightmare before Christmas – In Tim Burton’s twisted animated musical, the brilliant stop-motion animation takes place in Halloweentown.

A Miracle on 34th Street – A remake of this classic, be inspired as one little girl discovers dreams do come true if you really believe.

Happy Watching!!
