In the spirit of spreading awareness for Heart and Stroke Month, Harmony Village is sharing some key nutrition and exercise tips from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
First, don’t be afraid to get moving! People who are physically inactive are twice as likely to be at risk for heart disease or stroke. Being active doesn’t need to be challenging! Walking or jogging to a local store rather than driving is a great way to get outdoors and mix up your daily routine.
When it comes to your diet, portion size and variety are key. Try and stay away from foods high in salt and fats; instead, opt for healthy, fresh choices. Healthy meals don’t have to be boring!
