Our Favourite Smoothie Recipes
Not only are smoothies a delicious and quick replacement for breakfast, they are a great way to incorporate seasonal fruits and vegetables into your diet. Here are three of our favourite smoothie recipes that are sure to be a hit with the entire family!
Apple Almond Flax Smoothie
Ingredients:
· 1 large apple, cut into small pieces
· 1/2 frozen banana
· 1 tablespoon almond butter
· 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
· 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
· 1/2 cup coconut milk
· Optional: handful of kale
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth and enjoy immediately.
Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
Ingredients:
· 6 ounces plain Greek yogurt
· 1/3 cup pumpkin puree (canned works fine but fresh tastes much better)
· 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
· 2 tablespoons maple syrup
· 1/4 cup milk (regular or nondairy)
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth and enjoy immediately.
Pear Power Smoothie
Ingredients:
· 1 very ripe pear, cut into small pieces
· 1/2 frozen banana
· 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
· 1/2 cup milk (regular or nondairy)
· Optional: handful of spinach
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth and enjoy immediately.
