With the holidays around the corner, the City of Barrie is supporting a number of exciting, family-friendly events that are sure to get you out and in the holiday spirit while making some very merry memories!

Barrie Santa Clause Parade

When: November 16, 2013, at 5:00 PM  
Where: Downtown Barrie

It’s time to jingle your jangles and get ready to be a part of the magic! Whether you like the floats or are hoping to get a glimpse of old St. Nick, the Barrie Santa Clause parade is an event for all ages. Make sure to stay warm. We suggest you dress in layers and bring along gloves, scarves and hats.

38th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

When: November 16, 2013, at 5:00 PM  
Where: Memorial Square

An annual tradition, the Barrie Tree Lighting Ceremony has a number of activities that are sure to bring in the festive season. With a visit from Santa, fireworks, wagon rides and a holiday film, there’s enough to keep you and the family entertained all evening.

First Light

When: November 28, 2013 at 5:30 PM  
Where: Sainte-Marie

A 17th century holiday season celebration, the First Light gives you the opportunity to be part of the magical glow of more than 5,000 candles while enjoying an evening on the historic site listening to live music, or Aboriginal drumming and choirs.
