Diabetes affects nine million
men, women and children nationwide and more than 1.4 million people across
Ontario. In your community, you can get involved through different fundraising
initiatives in support of the Canadian
Diabetes Association, to raise awareness
and funds for research and Canadians living with this illness.
To support Ontarians with
diabetes, the Ministry of Health partnered with the Ontario Pharmacists Association to launch
the Meds
Check program. An annual consultation for patients, the program provides
the opportunity for you to meet with your local pharmacist for a 30-minute consultation
to review your medications. The pharmacist will also discuss how your prescriptions,
over the counter medications and even health food supplements possibly interact
with each other.
At Harmony Village, we’ll
provide our residents with on-site health and wellness support for a variety of
diseases, including Diabetes. Our residents will have the support so they can
live the life they want.
What you may not know about
diabetes is that it affects more people than you think.
