As the seasons change, people tend to move their workouts indoors or even decrease the amount of exercise they regularly enjoy. Exercising daily is not only good for your physical health, but it will elevate your mood, help regulate your sleep and give you more energy throughout the day. In order to keep you moving, we’ve come up with tips and locations that will get you sweating without stepping in a gym.

Hit the pavement: Whether you run or walk, getting outside and increasing your heart rate a few of times a week is a great way to stay fit and healthy. You don’t have to be competing in a race to pick up running. Gradually build your pace by racing against your prior times! It will keep you motivated to train more often.

Fruit and vegetable picking: Picking your own fruits and vegetables is a great way to get outdoors and to know where your food comes from. Barrie has numerous farms where you can pick your own crops, including Barrie Hill Farms, where you can set your own pace while enjoying the sunshine. We suggest you grab a coat and get picking!

Yoga: Yoga is increasingly popular for a number of reasons. Yoga offers physical benefits, such as keeping you toned and lean. But it also offers mental health benefits, including relaxation and psychological benefits such as reflection. Neurological benefits include bringing your brain back to a balanced state.
