As we work through the design plans for Harmony Village, we’re driven by our commitment to Aging in Place, offering residents a place for today and tomorrow. That is why Universal Design is at the centre of our vision.

What is Universal Design?

Universal Design is meant to produce buildings, products and environments that embrace stylish, modern and aesthetically pleasing design while also ensuring barrier-free accessibility.

What are some examples of Universal Design in Harmony Village?

  • Easily accessible and wheelchair friendly pedestrian walkways
  • Convenient stores and shops, including cafes, restaurants, boutiques, patios and more
  • Professional services including a pharmacy and 24-hour concierge service
  • Ability to participate in a number of activities, including cooking and fitness classes, a book club and more
  • Outdoor spaces that will connect residents with nature, including pathways along the water, personal gardening beds and scenic trails
  • Barrier-free suites that also include numerous kitchen and floor plan option and lighting upgrades
Our architects and designers are working hard to ensure the Universal Design principal is incorporated throughout the residences and public spaces at Harmony Village. Find out more on HarmonyVillage.ca.
